The Festival Academy: Monday June 16 to Saturday June 28, 2025

ManiFeste, the IRCAM multidisciplinary festival and academy, is a gathering of creative artists in Paris, combining music with other disciplines: theater, dance, digital arts, and visual arts.

The academy welcomes and trains many young composers, performers, and listeners from all over the world to benefit from our large-scale artistic and technological environment and a large public audience during the workshops.

The Academy will provide an opportunity for students, whether active or auditors, to:

  • to attend rehearsals of composition workshops and performance master classes
  • to follow the courses of the composers, artists, musicians and invited musicians
  • to access the exceptional documentary collection of the IRCAM library
  • to attend all the academy workshops and master classes free of charge
  • to benefit from special rates for ManiFeste-2025 festival concerts

In 2025, the academy invites Italian composer Lucia Ronchetti, patron of the 2025 ÉLAN Award, and Italian composer Matteo Franceschini, in partnership with the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France conducted by German-Iranian Yalda Zamani, Italian composer Carmine-Emanuele Cella who leads a workshop dedicated to acousmatic music in 3D space, French engineer and multidisciplinary artist TremensS (Thomas Bouaziz) and French sound designer and producer Ténèbre (Paul Escande) who lead a workshop based on the Polytope de Cluny, Italian flutist Matteo Cesari who leads and conduct young musicians from the Ulysses ensemble, and Spanish conductor Daniel Huertas who leads the NEXT ensemble, with complicity of the musicians from the Ensemble intercontemporain to celebrate Pierre Boulez centenary.

The academy also offers master classes and composition courses, including:

  • Sessions with guest composers Lucia Ronchetti, Matteo Franceschini, and Carmine-Emanuele Cella
  • Workshops with composers premiering at ManiFeste-2025: Arnau Brichs, Mauro Lanza, Mei-Fang Lin, Diana Soh, Claudia-Jane Scroccaro, Hèctor Parra, and Adrien Trybucki
  • A course by Sasha J. Blondeau, composer in artistic residency at IRCAM, in collaboration with researcher Jean-Louis Giavitto
  • A class with Grégoire Lorieux, computer music designer and lecturer at IRCAM
  • Masterclasses by instrumentalists Luca Mariani (oboe) and Matteo Cesari (flute), focusing on their instruments, repertoires, and playing techniques

This exciting program will be further enriched by presentations from researchers in the STMS Joint Research Unit (CNRS, Sorbonne University, Ministry of Culture, and IRCAM).
